I always suck at this sort of thing, so, I’ll keep this brief. My name is Amanda Hall and this is my blog. I am a freelance artist and novelist and this blog is basically a log of my activities. Mostly, it will be about the creative stuff pertaining to my freelance mural work and writing but occasionally there will be things like movie and TV show reviews and some personal things chronicling my spiritual journey as well.
The
Painter
2016 has been the year when I finally got up the
courage to pursue my art as a career. I discovered oil painting and it is
something that I truly love doing. People usually enjoy seeing my artwork
progress as I work on a piece, so, this will be the focus of this blog: posting
about my current projects and showing updates about them, particularly my
learning process, since I am self-taught.
The
Writer
I have been writing stories for about 14 years
and have just recently gotten the desire to do it professionally. I always have
a current story that I’m working on, so, that will be the double focus for this
blog: posting updates about my progress on a current story.
The
Critic
I love watching movies and TV shows. I love
cinema theory and actors and actresses. I’m not so much a “fan” in the way of
idealizing the actual people but I respect and love the craft of filmmaking and
acting. The secondary purpose of this blog will be to occasionally post reviews
of whatever I’m currently watching. They won’t always be wholesome films or
shows so I will be sure to always mark whether a movie or show has a particular
rating, so that readers can avoid stumbling into a review for something that is
not appropriate.
The
Mormon
I am a returning member of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I haven’t always been and I’ll never presume to be
perfect but this is a big part of my life and something that I am continually
striving to grow towards. Sometimes I will feel prompted to share an experience
or explain background for certain things, so, this will come up occasionally.
So, that is this blog! Welcome and feel free to
comment or ask questions.
